Host-REA Wordpress hosting is hassle free and Fast.

To get your blog up and running follow these simple steps:

Step 1 — Purchase your Domain Name

Any registrar will work.  I would recommend either Godaddy or Namecheap.  It is always a good idea to purchase your Domain name form a different company than your web hosting.  This will provide you with the freedom to switch web hosts if you find that there service is sub-par or doesn’t fit your needs.

Step 2Purchase Web Hosting

Step 3 — Setup your Nameservers

To do this you will need to login to namecheap and go to manage domains -> click on the domain name -> select Domain Name Server Setup and enter the addresses provided in your welcome letter into the form fields and save the changes. It could take up to 24 hours for the name to propagate but it usually only takes an hour or so.

Step 4 — set up your email accounts.

To do this you will have to log in to your Host-REA control panel. The details are in your account welcome email. You will click on the email accounts icon in the mail section and proceed to fill out the form.

Step 5 – Now the fun part ~ Installing Wordpress.

1.) In the Host-REA control panel scroll to the bottom of the page.
2.) In the software/Services section select the Installatron Applications Installer
3.) In the left column select Wordpress.
4.) Click Install this application
5.) Follow the prompts and fill out the forms.

Now you should have a working basic installation of Wordpress and you will probably want apply a nice looking theme to it. You have two options Free or Paid. I would recommend a paid theme like the ones at the Themeforest. It is well worth the $25-$35 to get a professionally designed and developed theme with source image PSD (photoshop) files and detailed instructions on how to use it. Some of the free themes are nice but most of them are buggy, under developed and lack the source image files for easy editing. You can view the free themes at http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/

When you find a theme you can simply purchase/download it then ftp it to the wp-content/themes folder in your wordpress installation. Next you will have to log into wordpress and activate the theme under the appearance tab.

P.S. It is always a good idea to generate backups monthly or before you make a major changes to your site.
